This position provides practical nursing services to clients at the Florida Department of Health in Bay County (DOH Bay) and at other sites under the auspices of DOH Bay. Responsibilities include providing nursing services in clinics, assisting clinicians, nurses, and health support technicians, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of data sets, serving as a backup to the VFC Coordinator, managing vaccine inventory, interviewing clients, collecting health data, recording health histories, assisting with administration of medications, treatments, and immunizations, providing counseling/education regarding immunizations and public health issues, assisting with vital signs and screening procedures, documenting assessment information in the patient record using SOAP format, completing Employee Activity Records, timesheets, leave and attendance reports, assisting with triage and other client services, and performing other duties as assigned.

• Must be an independent worker
• Moderate computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be able to stand for long periods, lift a minimum of 25 pounds, bend and climb one flight of steps
• Must be able to work with children

• Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Valid driver's license
• Must be willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, including work in special needs or Red Cross shelters or in disaster response situations.
