About the RoleJoin one of the largest retail operations dedicated to providing Pet Parents with the best selection of pet care items and passionate customer service. The Store Manager is the front‑line leader responsible for coaching and developing the store team to deliver world‑class service, ensuring the well‑being of all pets, maintaining operational standards, and driving sales goals.

Responsibilities Sales LeadershipDrive sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store to achieve sales, KPIs, and other performance goals. Ensure the team completes assigned tasks, teaches and trains staff to deliver a superior customer experience, articulates and communicates the company’s vision and values, and accounts for financial reporting and operational metrics. Monitor customer service and selling models to ensure professional, timely interactions and resolve complaints.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude in all communications.
Build relationships and drive ongoing customer satisfaction. Review customer ratings and act as needed. Focus on the customer experience, brand, and loyalty awareness by building relationships throughout the community. Protect employees and customers by maintaining a safe, clean store environment and caring for all livestock, including animal care and feeding.
Operations and Talent DevelopmentEnsure brand standards and operational excellence. Manage controllable expenses, loss prevention, and safety standards to support profitability. Handle inventory management—placing orders within budget, maintaining inventory accuracy, and meeting shrink goals. Manage labor hours, maintain consistent use of tools and processes, enforce training plans, new‑hire checklists, merchandising standards, and performance management, including terminations and OFIs. Create a talent pipeline by developing staffing plans, conducting hires, and ensuring staffing levels meet store needs.
BusinessInsight
Control and maximize DSOP through POS discounts, employee discounts, and damaged inventory. Review, analyze, and interpret profit‑and‑loss statements, identify opportunities for improvement, and maximize bottom‑line profit. Plan and execute community events and partner with rescue agencies.
QualificationsMinimum 3‑5 years in a retail manager role or a minimum of 1 year as a Store Manager. College degree an asset. Ability to work a flexible schedule including morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, with a workload of at least 45 hours per week. Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle required.
Physical DemandsHeavy lifting up to 55 lbs several times per shift. Standing or moving around most of the shift, with occasional work alone. Common injuries include slips, trips, falls, and strains/sprains from lifting. Active listening and observation skills required.
