This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with mission-critical aviation related technology in dynamic environments, supporting the readiness and operational capability of naval weapon system assets. This work supports the U.S. Navy Landing Craft and Air Cushion Connector Ship-to
- Shore (LCAC SSC) Legacy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) as part of a depot repair, refurbishment, craft operation and maintenance team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assemble and install equipment requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting electrical components while following detailed procedures to include replacement of components and wiring circuits
Repair simple electrical/electronic equipment
Take test readings using common precision measuring instruments (digital multi-meters and/or signal generators)
Inspecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining electronic components and systems within aviation related equipment
Reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
Documenting maintenance and repair actions in accordance with standard procedures
Conducting performance checks and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
Utilizing specialized testing equipment and software tools
Adhering to all safety protocols and operational regulations
Travel up to 10% within the United States
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent education1+ years of experience assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting
Basic understanding of a variety of hand tools such as digital multi-meters and signal generators
Demonstrated experience working with components and wiring circuits
Proficiency in interpreting electronic schematics and technical documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in electronics, avionics, or related field
Formal military electrical / electronics training or certification (e.g., Navy/USAF avionics school)
Experience with rotary- or fixed-wing aircraft systems
Familiarity with military standards for aircraft systems
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance
Must obtain an interim secret security clearance before starting
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights as required
Frequently lifts, moves, or carries up to 50 pounds
Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling during inspections and repairs
Must be able to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors in operational settings
