A DAY IN THE LIFEThe HVAC Service Technician position performs service, maintenance, and installation of all makes and models of residential and commercial HVAC equipment. HVAC Service Technician's work may include but not limited to the diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment, installation of duct work and HVAC equipment, performing start-ups on HVAC equipment, and installing and terminating line and low voltage wiring.
Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment
- Installation of duct work and HVAC equipment
- Ability to work in confined spaces (attic and under houses)
- Maintain, clean and stock company vehicle
- Ensure a clean and safe work area
- Maintain safety protocols with homeowners or guest
- Ability to communicate with owners or guests professionally
- Ability to collaborate well with coworkers
- Follow direction of HVAC Service Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Normal work schedule is Monday - Friday, but must have the flexibility to work weekend, holidays, and after hours when required.
- Willing to work overtime when the situation arises.
- Take part in the on-call rotation for nights and weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Be knowledgeable or have the willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience in residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Refrigerant certified (minimum type
2) - Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Lift and carry material weighing up to 75 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to climb and utilize a ladder safely.
- Good physical fitness: hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond to sounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including outdoors in times of excessive heat and inclement weather.
