As our Lead Cabling Technician, you are the working field leader on assigned structured cabling projects! You’ll direct daily crew activities, interpret project blueprints, and ensure every installation meets strict BICSI/TIA standards and company quality. While remaining 100% hands‑on with pulling, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting copper and fiber infrastructure, you’ll serve as the go‑to mentor for cabling techs, keeping jobsites safe, organized, and moving on schedule.

• Direct daily field activities for assigned cabling crews—assigning tasks based on tech skill levels, setting daily priorities, and monitoring installation quality.
• Review project drawings, scope details, pathways, cable schedules, labeling specs, and equipment layouts before initiating work.
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant jobsites, enforcing safety practices (ladder safety, PPE, cable handling) and protecting occupied customer spaces.
• Lead and participate directly in pathway preparation, cable pulling, dressing, termination, labeling, and project closeout.
• Execute installations across Category 5e/6/6A copper, fiber‑optic systems, equipment racks, patch panels, pathways, and grounding/bonding systems.
• Operate copper and fiber testing equipment, verify certification results, troubleshoot common performance issues, and complete final turnover documentation.

• Track field material usage, anticipate upcoming supply needs, and protect equipment from damage or loss.
• Document project progress, labor hours, and service notes accurately in Halo PSA while providing clear daily updates to Project Managers.
• Maintain professional communication with general contractors, end customers, and internal project managers (escalating scope changes, design conflicts, or access issues to management).

This is an active field position located primarily at customer and construction sites (including offices, schools, equipment rooms, ceilings, attics, and rooftops). You should be comfortable climbing ladders up to 30 ft, working from elevated platforms, lifting equipment up to 120 lbs (with team assistance), and occasionally working overtime, nights, or weekends depending on project schedules.

  Experience:
  
  High School Diploma or GED required, with 3+ years of structured cabling field experience and a proven track record of leading small crews.
• Technical Mastery: Deep working knowledge of Cat 5e/6/6A copper, fiber optics, racks, patch panels, pathways, grounding/bonding, and labeling/testing practices.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, architectural floor plans, cable schedules, and project specifications.
• Documentation & Systems: Comfort using field test equipment, understanding test result graphics, and logging project updates accurately in tools like Halo PSA.
• Certifications (Preferred): BICSI Installer/Technician, manufacturer certifications, or OSHA safety training are highly preferred.
• Driver Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to assigned job sites.
