Clerk Position
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties and performs other related tasks as required by the administrative or other supervisory staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Assists with data entry functions for the student information system, including, but not limited to, demographics and attendance.
- Greets and checks in guests, completing a security check and issuing visitor badges.
- Communicates with instructional personnel regarding a variety of topics.
- Assists with the process of student registration including parent completion of registration forms upon entry and student withdrawal forms upon exit.
- Performs front office duties such as answering phone calls, checking in guests, and addressing student needs.
- Assists with SIS access for parents.
- Maintains confidentiality of student information and records.
- Supports and acts in accordance with all Bay Haven Charter Academy, Inc. Board of Directors goals, objectives and policies, and other federal and state laws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Data entry experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Experience working with FOCUS is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Great oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.
- Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain strict organization and student confidentiality.
- Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods of time.
- Periodic need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds and/or perform a two-person lift greater than 50 pounds.
- Work is generally performed in a fast-paced, high volume, school/office environment.
- Must be able to tolerate varying environmental conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, rain, etc.
- Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from administrators, staff members, students, and others.
- Occasional travel to various school, district, state, and/or community events may be required.
