Position Overview

Forest Park Church is seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and ministry-minded professional to serve as our next Church Administrator.

The Church Administrator provides leadership and oversight for the business and operational ministries of the church, including financial administration, human resources, facilities management, and weekday office operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Pastor, this individual will work closely with church staff, ministry leaders, committees, volunteers, vendors, and members of the congregation.

This is more than an office-management position. The Church Administrator plays an important part in creating the dependable systems, responsible stewardship, and healthy working environment that allow the church’s ministries to flourish.

The successful candidate will be able to view administrative leadership as a form of Christian ministry and will understand how excellent administration supports our church and its mission withinour community.

Primary Responsibilities Financial Administration

The Church Administrator will oversee the church’s accounting and financial-management processes, including:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and accounting systems.
  • Managing the receipt, deposit, disbursement, recording, and reconciliation of church funds.
  • Administering the church’s Quick Books Online accounting platform.
  • Processing invoices, payments, checks, and church-issued credit cards.
  • Preparing regular financial reports for church leadership.
  • Coordinating the development and administration of the annual church budget.
  • Working with church leaders to maintain appropriate internal controls and separation of financial duties.
  • Coordinating annual financial audits or reviews.
  • Overseeing payroll processing, payroll tax reporting, tax deposits, and year-end W-2 and 1099 preparation in cooperation with the church’s payroll provider.
  • Managing vendor relationships, contracts, and competitively bid purchases.
  • Completing required annual church financial and administrative reports.
Personnel and Human Resources

Working with the Senior Pastor and the church’s Staff-Pastor Relations Committee, the Church Administrator will:

  • Develop, administer, and help enforce church personnel policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current job descriptions for paid staff.
  • Assist with staff performance-evaluation processes.
  • Participate in the hiring and separation of support staff.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment requirements.
  • Protect confidential personnel, financial, and congregational information.
  • Promote healthy communication and professional working relationships among staff and ministry leaders.
Facilities and Property Management

Working with the church's Trustee's Committee, the Church Administrator will help ensure that the church campus remains safe, functional, welcoming, and well maintained by:

  • Overseeing the maintenance and care of church buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Supervising custodial personnel, volunteers, vendors, and outside contractors in cooperation with church leadership.
  • Coordinating the use of church facilities by church ministries and approved outside organizations.
  • Assisting church leaders with building, remodeling, repair, and equipment projects.
  • Supporting the development and administration of facility-use policies.
  • Reviewing insurance needs and reporting findings to church trustees.
  • Overseeing campus security, safety, and risk-management practices.
  • Maintaining appropriate records and inventories of church property and major equipment.
Church Office Administration

The Church Administrator will oversee the effective weekday operation of the church office, including:

  • Supervising office assistants, volunteers, and other assigned office personnel.
  • Maintaining office equipment, computer systems, and routine data backups.
  • Coordinating staff training on office technology and church-management systems.
  • Administering office, building, grounds, utilities, and contract-service budgets.
  • Participating in weekly staff meetings and designated church leadership and committee meetings.
