This is critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and materials to support the company's operations.

This position oversees all aspects of inventory, from forecasting and ordering supplies to maintaining accurate records and optimizing inventory levels.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of purchasing principles, supply chain management, and inventory control techniques.

They will also have excellent communication and negotiation skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize costs and optimize stock levels.
  • Forecast inventory needs based on sales projections, production schedules, and market trends.
  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely receipt of goods and materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, improve purchasing efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Implement inventory management software and train staff on its use.
  • Supervise inventory control staff and provide guidance on inventory management practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in inventory management and purchasing.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Supply Chain Management, or Verifiable On The Job Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in inventory management and purchasing.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement inventory control strategies to minimize costs and optimize stock levels.
  • Experience with forecasting inventory needs, identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part o f a team.
