Job Title

The primary purpose of this job is to teach courses in Anatomy and Physiology and/or Anatomy and Physiology Labs.

Examples of Duties

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Teaching classes and/or labs (regular load is 3 - 6 contact hours per week); maintain close communication with the Course Manager throughout the semester.
  • Office hours: 30 minutes before or after class time.
  • Other professional duties include preparing lecture materials, writing and grading tests, and preparing for lab.

Other duties:
As assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Anatomy & Physiology, Biology or related field from an institutional accredited college or university, with 18 graduate hours in Anatomy & Physiology required for teaching lecture class. A bachelor's degree in Biology or related field will be needed to teach lab classes.
  • Ability to teach HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY courses on the collegiate level.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology
  • Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods
  • Must work well with other people
  • Have a love and passion for teaching
  • Willing to work flexible hours

The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus as well as ability to determine the color of objects.
