Teaching Faculty , or - History, Social Science; Panama Campus

Responsibilities

• Teach dual‑enrollment and undergraduate courses in the FSU Liberal Studies curriculum and the Interdisciplinary Social Sciences major, with emphasis on American History, World History, and other social‑science areas as appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues at the campus and in the community to recruit students, promote the FSU Panama City Interdisciplinary Social Science Program, and engage with local initiatives that enhance student experiences and program access.
• Act as an engaged faculty member for the FSU Panama City Campus.
• Though not required, have the opportunity to conduct research and oversee student projects.

• PhD in History or a related field from an accredited institution.
• ABD candidates and candidates with a Master’s in History and a related doctoral degree are also considered.

• Previous university teaching experience.
• Qualified to teach a variety of courses in the ISS curriculum.
• Direct experience supporting students in career development.
• Strong commitment to teaching excellence and dedication to students.

The FSU PC Interdisciplinary Program in Social Science (ISS) offers a broad foundation for understanding public affairs and studying complex social world issues with an interdisciplinary approach. Students are encouraged to apply a spectrum of perspectives to specific public policies and social issues, and the program is flexible to allow pursuit of individual specialized and pre‑professional interests.

• Successful completion of a criminal history background check is required.
• This position will be on campus at FSU Panama City, Panama City, FL.
• Position is open until filled and will begin in Fall 2026.
