Instructional Designer

Gulf Coast State College seeks an innovative and collaborative Instructional Designer to join its Online Learning Department. This position offers an opportunity to shape the future of teaching and learning by partnering with faculty to create engaging, accessible, and effective learning experiences for students across a growing portfolio of online and hybrid courses.

The Instructional Designer serves as a strategic partner to faculty and academic departments, providing expertise in instructional design, educational technology, artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced teaching and learning, course quality, accessibility, and student engagement. The successful candidate will be passionate about improving learning outcomes, advancing innovative teaching practices, and supporting faculty excellence in online, hybrid, and face-to-face learning environments.

Partner with faculty to design, develop, and continuously improve online and hybrid courses using evidence-based instructional design practices.

Consult with faculty on course design, assessment, student engagement, accessibility, educational technology, and the effective use of AI-enhanced teaching and learning tools.

Develop instructional resources, multimedia content, and professional development opportunities that support innovative and high-quality teaching practices.

Promote quality standards for online education, including Quality Matters principles, accessibility requirements, and emerging best practices related to AI literacy and academic integrity.

Collaborate with academic and student support units to advance institutional initiatives in online learning, digital innovation, and student success.

Evaluate and recommend instructional technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance teaching effectiveness, learner engagement, and operational efficiency.

Analyze course and student performance data to support continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.

Master's degree or higher in instructional design, educational technology, or related field from an institutional accredited college or university. This position is sensitive and will require a level II background. Notice of E' Verify participation.
