Job Description
We are seeking a CAD Operator to join our ranks in support of Science & Technology Code X. Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance, a big plus if you already obtain an active Secret Clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain clearance.
This work is both high profile and highly complex, so we are looking for problem‑solvers that are able to work quickly to provide innovative solutions.
While job‑skills are—of course—the thing we look tight deadlines mean that this person must also be flexible to jump in when and where needed.
Qualifications- Associate’s Degree in engineering design technology or similar discipline; plus a minimum of ten years of recent, relevant CAD drafting experience using Solid Works
. - Minimum 8 years recent experience translating engineering drawings, markups and 3D models into 2D CAD drawings for a combination of structural, mechanical, architectural, civil and/or electrical and instrumentation.
- Solid Edge or Auto Cad experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong math skills for basic calculations and measurements.
- Must be able to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to select and apply appropriate engineering standards and procedures and verify compliance.
- Ability to visualize three‑dimensional, dynamic systems.
- Ability to communicate and work with and support engineers.
- Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems.
- Ability to use knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel required.

- Uses computer‑aided design or other graphic tools or drafting techniques to perform scaling, dimensioning, or line locating.
- Calculates various dimensions or weights using mathematical formulas.
- Works with engineers and developers to accurately depict the desired design characteristics.
- Contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Assists plant engineers and project leads in obtaining necessary drawings and information to implement improvement projects.
