Job Summary
Senior Computer Engineer – Airbase Technologies
Location:
Tyndall Air Force Base, near Panama City, FL; on‑site.
We are seeking an experienced engineer to support Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) efforts in Airbase Technologies. Your responsibilities will include software development for robotic systems, improving autonomy, integrating advanced sensors, designing electrical circuits, building hardware and software components, and developing specifications.
Responsibilities- Compile and evaluate design and test data; prepare technical specifications.
- Analyze technical data to determine limits and variables for computing systems, components, equipment, and networks.
- Develop software for autonomous robotic systems.
- Lead teams to integrate sensors and advanced circuits into robotic systems.
- Analyze and interpret collected data.
- Prepare technical reports and present to clients.
- Conduct or lead small technical projects or phases of projects.
- Provide technical direction to and coordinate work of engineers and support staff.
- Assist with proposal efforts and prepare technical sections.
- Build relationships with internal and external clients; communicate schedules and quality of deliverables.
- Contribute to IR&D studies.
- Support business development efforts and secure follow‑on work.
- Assist in coordination and participation in events and conferences.
- Participate in scientific conferences, peer review panels, and publication activities.
- Oversee, mentor and train lower‑level staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 years of experience, or master’s with 2 years, or PhD; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Up to 7 years of related experience and/or skill sets may be required depending on contract.
- Proficiency in multiple computer coding languages.
- Proficiency in designing electric circuits.
- Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) development.
- Experience with robotic autonomy kits.
- Compressed work schedule with every other Friday off.
- Hybrid work model: 60% in‑office, 40% remote;
