CNC Machinist

Job Description

HII – Mission Technologies is hiring an exceptional CNC machinist to join our rapidly expanding, strategic and diverse team at the Panama City Beach site. The facility is outfitted with multiple machining centers, CNC lathes, and a true 5‑axis dual column bridge mill. The machinist will use Mastercam 2023 CAD/CAM software to produce highly precise machined parts for unmanned contracts.

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determine material, parts, and equipment required.
• Modify numerically controlled programs on NC machines as needed.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

• 5 years of related experience.
• High School diploma, GED, or certification in assigned area preferred.
• Must be able to work second shift.
• 5th axis milling experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level government security clearance.

• Experience with FANUC 31i and HAAS controllers.
• Experience with CAD/CAM programming (Mastercam 2023).
• Experience machining titanium.
• Experience machining with tight GD&T constraints.

• Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes; minimum weight 30 lbs.
• Able to work on and climb ladders, in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
• Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

• Anticipated Salary Range: $52,008.00–$70,000.00.
• Required Travel: 0 ‑ 10 %.
