** POSITION SUMMARY
** Work closely with the Material Processing Superintendent/ Foreman to provide support in the overall supervision of the Panel Line building.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
** Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
* Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
* Comply with company, Federal, State, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties.
* Assist Superintendent/ Foreman in resolving issues about day-to-day operations of the panel line equipment.
* Assist Superintendent/ Foreman in meeting production schedule, maintaining resources and training needs within the Department.
* Provide technical assistance and oversee the workforce in the Panel Line building.
* Inspect finished products from Panel Line equipment to ensure they meet the specifications and standards set by the Company.
* Monitor employees’ work performances and productivity.
* Perform additional assignments as directed by the Superintendent/ Foreman.
* Plan ahead to ensure their crew is working safely.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** Directly and/ or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Plasma Cutting building located in Material Processing Department. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
** REQUIREMENTS
* *** Education/ Experience/ Knowledge:
** High school diploma or GED equivalence plus three to five years’ previous shipyard experience. Must be able to manage a crew of individuals to get the job done efficiently, effectively, and safely. Three to five years’ supervisory experience desired. Knowledge of CNC-based operating equipment. Requires knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations.
