Overview
As a LPN Med Surg Inpatient Surgical, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn—whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You’ll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.
Responsibilities- Provide appropriate information to assist the Registered Nurse in the preparation and maintenance of an effective patient care plan.
- Reinforce instructions given to the patient by the physician and Registered Nurse and refer new needs for instruction to the Registered Nurse.
- May administer prescribed medications to patients under specific policies and procedures.
- Take and record patients’ vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight, height).
- Collect lab samples from patients, including blood and urine samples.
- Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
- Vocational School Graduate.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
- IV Certification must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
