Senior Certified Nursing Assistant

C. Sims State Veterans' Nursing Home in Panama City, Bay County is seeking a Senior Certified Nursing Assistant. The annual salary is $37,420.76 paid bi-weekly. All SCNA's working 2nd or 3rd shifts are eligible for a.50¢ per hour shift differential. The position offers an excellent retirement package, optional deferred compensation plan, health, vision, dental, disability, and other supplemental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, nine paid holidays and personal day, and a tuition waiver for State Universities and Community Colleges (up to 6 credits per semester).
Minimum qualifications include a current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License, willingness and ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective communication in English, and basic computer skills. Successful completion of the due diligence process, including a Level II background check and drug test, is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience in long-term care or a 120 bed skilled nursing facility and a high school diploma or GED.
The Senior Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assisting with activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility, responding promptly to call lights, observing and reporting resident concerns, completing assignments timely and accurately, providing necessary assistance with activities of daily living, performing restorative measures, documenting services provided, working cooperatively with residents, family members, and staff, maintaining confidentiality, transporting residents to appointments, attending in-service programs and training classes, observing facility safety and infection control policies, and performing other related duties as required.
