Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Days Opportunity
This PRN daytime elective offers 36 hours per week (full‑time load) at Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital. Recent graduates are welcome. Overtime and additional shift coverage are available. Full‑time positions earned a $2,500 Sign‑On Bonus.
Facility OverviewEmerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment for adolescents and adults at an 86‑bed facility in Panama City, FL, and outpatient services throughout the Florida Panhandle. Services include a Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical‑dependency treatment, and TMS therapy for chronic depression.
Core Responsibilities- Conduct complete nursing assessments of all admissions, including risk assessments (SAO, elopement, assault, suicide), educational needs, and medication review.
- Complete all required nursing documents within established time frames.
- Actively participate in treatment team meetings, contribute data to care‑plan updates, assess patient needs, design and implement programs, and document and evaluate patient responses.
- Document nursing care and treatment progression through timely and accurate chart entries; update nursing treatment plans per policy.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and milieu; monitor patients during detox, including CIWA and COWS assessments.
- Oversee completion of physician orders, including labs, EKGs, and x‑rays.
- Ensure medications and treatments are administered as prescribed; document and obtain medication consents per policy.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to Mental Health Technicians and LPNs; oversee Q15 observations and conduct rounds.
- Manage milieu, assist nurses and MHTs, and prioritize safety.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene and ADLs as needed; provide Q15 observation round coverage when required.
- Assess direct interventions in crisis situations; recognize escalation and take preventive steps to reduce restraint and seclusion.
- Document patient and family education; lead education groups.
- Initiate and account for Special Treatment Procedures.
- Provide thorough hand‑off reports to incoming shift.
- Manage and order unit supplies for activities and therapeutic environments.
- Complete chart checks as assigned; float to other units as needed.
- Serve as mentor and trainer for new employees.
- May perform Mental Health Technician (MHT) and/or 1:1 duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by the position.

- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Current FL RN License or compact license
- Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts, including weekends
- Must successfully complete Level II background screening
