Security Generalist​/F​/Tyndall AFB

Job Description

This position is located at Tyndall AFB in Panama City, Florida, and will support the F-35 Lightning II Program. It will perform duties as a Security Generalist and will be responsible for security support of classified areas at the F-35 Pilot Training Center.

• Assist instructors, pilots and visitors using the facility.
• Operate badging and access control systems.
• Monitor security camera systems and perform random searches.
• Enforce all USAF and local security procedures and practices, including controlling access to secure facilities, handling and storage of classified documents and electronic media, monitoring compliance with COMSEC and COMPUSEC, and acting as COMSEC/SVRO custodian as needed.
• Provide assistance with file plans and documentation maintenance in classified containers; change combinations and generate SF 700s.
• Assist in self‑inspections and prepare for customer inspections; perform and document vault alarm tests.
• Assist in security investigations; escort un‑cleared personnel within classified areas.
• Work primarily on 1st shift with flexibility to work other shifts, including weekends, as required by customer requirements to support mission events.
• Occasional business travel may be required, including deployment and detachment support in austere locations to support F‑35 security operations outside of Tyndall AFB.

• Secret security clearance with an investigation or CV date within 5 years.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program access.
• Experience working in classified areas and with classified materials.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service skills.

• Knowledge of Joint Strike Fighter security requirements.
• Experience working in a military environment.
• Works well independently and in group settings.
• Ability to multi‑task and remain organized.
• Knowledge of ICD 705 and/or DoD Manual 5205.07.

This position requires a US citizen government security clearance. The required level is Secret with an investigation or CV date within 5 years, and the individual must be able to obtain Special Access Program access.

Shift: 1st shift (may require flexibility to work other shifts including weekends).
