The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall management, operation, maintenance, compliance and general security of a technical integration facility supporting IT system production, integration, and testing activities. This role ensures that the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory, contractual, and security requirements.
The Facilities Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters, including infrastructure reliability, physical security, environmental controls, vendor management, and support for technical operations.
Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Maintenance- Oversee daily operations of the warehouse
- Serve as primary point of contact for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, and other building system issues
- Manage inventory, organize and report on high volume receivables, and track against associated BOMs
- Produce weekly status and inventory reports for inbound and outbound material
- Manage shipping and receiving to include any forms required for custody transfer of equipment
- Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Coordinate and manage repairs, upgrades, and facility improvement projects
- Monitor physical security systems including access control, badging, CCTV, alarms, and intrusion detection
- Enforce access procedures, visitor control, and escort requirements
- Coordinate with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) to ensure compliance with DoD, NISPOM, ITAR, and other applicable security requirements
- Maintain secure areas, controlled access zones, and sensitive equipment storage
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local fire codes, environmental regulations, and corporate policies
- Enforce and modify workplace safety programs, including PPE and hazard communication
- Coordinate training related to safety, security, and facility procedures
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Maintain required compliance documentation and reporting
- Maintain an accurate facility floor plan that documents space utilization by project
- Plan and optimize facility layout to support growth
- Coordinate facility modifications, expansions, and tenant improvements
- Manage utility capacity, including power loads and backup systems
- Ensure infrastructure scalability to support program growth
- Oversee contracts for maintenance, janitorial, security systems, and specialized services
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Maintain and manage facility-related budgets
- Maintain and modify emergency response and evacuation plans
- Coordinate drills (fire, severe weather, security incidents)
- Serve as incident lead for facility-related emergencies
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
- Track and report facility performance metrics (uptime, maintenance response, safety incidents)
- Support internal, customer, and government audits and inspections
- Escalate structural, technical and personnel issues to company management for awareness
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience managing warehouses, or integration/test facilities
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, security, electrical, fire protection, etc.)
- Familiarity with OSHA, fire codes, and environmental regulations
- Ability to work non-standard hours and weekends in exception cases
- Experience in defense contracting or government-regulated environments
- Experience with managing inventory
- Knowledge of NISPOM, ITAR, and/or classified facility requirements (e.g., SCIFs)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFM, FMP, LEED, OSHA certifications)
- Experience managing secure facilities and access control systems
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 5-10+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a technical, industrial, or defense environment
- On-site in a warehouse and technical facility environment
- May require occasional after-hours or on-call support for emergencies or critical maintenance
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and walk/stand for extended periods, as needed
