POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):The Boiler Mechanic/Plumber maintains, repairs, and installs boilers (steam and hot water) and all associated components. Also responsible for chemical treatment. Assemble, install, and repair pipe, fittings, and fixtures of hot and cold water and drainage systems.
May work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and/or carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces, depending on specific work site. May be periodically exposed to confined spaces, hot and cold temperatures, and inclement weather conditions, or other work conditions determined by nature of work.
Job Requirements , Mandatory:- Must be able to pass respirator fit test requirements in accordance with 29 CFR
- Must be able to obtain flight line driving permit.
- Five years’ experience installing/repairing boilers.
- Five years’ experience as a Journeyman Plumber.
- General knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Team player; ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings, as per contract requirement.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Soldering experience.
