About the Opportunity
The Cement Terminal Team Member is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of cement products at the terminal. This position supports daily terminal operations, including loading and unloading bulk cement, operating equipment, maintaining inventory, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
Your Mission &Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload bulk cement from trucks, railcars, and storage silos.
- Operate terminal equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, forklifts, skid steers, and other material-handling equipment.
- Monitor product flow and storage levels to ensure efficient terminal operations.
- Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting operational issues and report equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and operational activities.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental procedures.
- Keep the terminal clean and organized through routine housekeeping.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock reconciliation.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, vendors, and team members.
- Support emergency response procedures and report safety concerns immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights.
- Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work throughout the shift.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, terminal, warehouse, or construction environments preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts or other heavy equipment (or willingness to become certified).
- Basic computer and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
