Service Technician

Summary

The Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment. The Service Technician will work in a commercial environment troubleshooting problems and helping with the installation of electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures.

• Electrical System Troubleshooting:
  Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify electrical problems in systems, equipment, or components. Use testing instruments and techniques to locate faults, analyze circuitry, and determine the root cause of malfunctions.
• Electrical Repairs and Maintenance:
  Perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments to electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment. Replace faulty or worn-out components, repair wiring connections, and ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Service Calls and Work Orders:
  Respond to service calls from clients or customers to address electrical issues, resolve problems, and restore functionality. Follow work orders or service requests, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of oneself and others. Follow lockout/tagout procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, and maintain knowledge of relevant safety guidelines.
• Electrical Installations:
  Assist with electrical system installations, including wiring, panels, switches, and other components. Collaborate with installation teams to ensure proper placement, connections, and compliance with specifications and electrical codes.
• Maintenance Contracts:
  Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and service on electrical systems for clients with maintenance contracts. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvements or repairs.
• Customer Service:
  Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Provide clear explanations of electrical issues, repair options, and preventive measures. Address customer concerns, answer questions, and maintain positive relationships with clients.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Generate reports, work orders, or documentation as required by the organization or regulatory authorities. Update maintenance logs or databases to track service history.
• Upgrades and Improvements:
  Identify opportunities for system upgrades, energy-efficient solutions, or equipment replacements. Recommend improvements to enhance the performance, safety, and energy efficiency of electrical systems.
• Continued Learning and Professional Development:
  Stay updated with advancements in electrical technology, industry trends, and regulations. Participate in training programs, seminars, or workshops to expand knowledge and skills.
