Jobs for America’s Graduates - Kansas is looking to hire a full-time Career Specialist for Paola High School in Paola, Kansas. The role focuses on student success, helping students overcome obstacles to graduation, and preparing them for career and college pathways.

Work Schedule for a Full-Time Career Specialist

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday during the school year with flexibility during the summer.

• Identify, recruit, and educate students who have difficulties achieving graduation and help them transition to college, military, or career pathways using the JAG model.
• Develop positive relationships with students through project-based learning, trauma-informed care, and employer engagement to deliver student-centered programs.
• Instruct 35 to 60 students to meet or exceed performance outcomes using project-based learning and JAG activities (e.g., student conferences focused on career, civic, social, and service-learning, and career exploration).
• Deliver value-added instruction, support, and advocacy to graduates and non-graduates through follow-up services with students.
• Navigate challenges in the role while building positive relationships and supporting students toward successful futures after leaving JAG-K.

• High school diploma (required).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with technology.
