Spreetail is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst, Merchandising finance to serve serve as a critical analytical partner to our Merchandising and Category leadership teams, shaping how we think about pricing, promotions, assortment, and category profitability. This is a highly analytical, SQL-intensive role built for someone who thrives on getting hands-on with complex data — you'll independently query and model large-scale datasets in Snowflake, build sophisticated PVM analyses, and turn dense financial detail into clear, decisive recommendations that influence real commercial outcomes.

You'll own the financial rigor behind new SKU and assortment launches, evaluate marketing spend and incrementality, and bring operational finance discipline to a fast-moving ecommerce environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned financial analyst who wants significant autonomy, direct exposure to senior stakeholders, and the opportunity to define how data drives merchandising strategy at scale.

• Proven experience partnering directly with Merchandising, Category, or Commercial leadership in a senior operational finance capacity — driving decisions on pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, assortment planning, and category-level profitability at scale.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in Price, Volume, Mix (PVM) analysis, with a demonstrated ability to build PVM models from the ground up, isolate business drivers, and translate complex financial mechanics into a narrative that shapes executive-level decisions.
• Extensive SQL expertise — writing complex, performant queries independently against large transactional datasets (Snowflake or equivalent) to build financial models and dashboards without reliance on data engineering support. This is core to the role, not a nice-to-have.
• Track record owning end-to-end financial support for new SKU, brand, or assortment launches — including forecasting, margin modeling, cannibalization analysis, and post-launch performance measurement across multiple concurrent launches.
• Experience evaluating marketing spend and incrementality, partnering with Marketing and FP&A leadership to assess ROI, trade-offs, and downstream impacts to demand, margin, and inventory position.

• Bring a strong foundation in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Data Analytics, paired with the analytical horsepower to independently untangle ambiguous, high-stakes business questions and deliver precise, decision-ready insights.
• Apply 7–10+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or merchandising finance — retail or ecommerce exposure strongly preferred — operating with the autonomy expected at a Principal level.
