Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants to join our teams across multiple Hillcrest locations in Bellevue, Gretna, and Papillion.

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide hand-on support, build meaningful relationships with residents, and help create a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment.

Start as a Personal Care Assistant
- Grow Into a Medication Aide

No Medication Aide certification? No problem.

Hillcrest offers free Medication Aide training for eligible Personal Care Assistants after 90 days of employment. This gives you the opportunity to start in a hand-on care role, learn our residents and communities, and then continue growing your healthcare skills with support from Hillcrest.

This is a strong career path for someone who wants meaningful work now and the opportunity to grow into a Medication Aide role with additional responsibility.

What You’ll Do

As a Personal Care Assistant, you will provide quality personal care and daily living support while helping residents feel safe, respected, and cared for.

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living based on individual needs, preferences, and service agreements.
  • Support residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, mobility, toileting, adaptive devices, and other personal care needs.
  • Assist with meals and dining, including helping residents get to and from meals and ensuring residents are accounted for.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and respectful support throughout daily routines.
  • Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, needs, or concerns and communicate promptly with the nurse and care team.
  • Support residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care with patience, compassion, and dignity.
  • Engage residents in daily activities, scheduled programming, and meaningful moments throughout the day.
  • Assist with resident laundry, linens, clothing, and personal care supplies.
  • Help maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident spaces by removing trash, making beds, organizing, vacuuming, and completing assigned cleaning tasks.
  • Communicate resident updates and concerns with nurses, PCAs, Medication Aides, and oncoming/offgoing shifts.
  • Follow infection-control practices, safety standards, and Hillcrest policies and procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, nurses, and team members.
What You Can Grow Into

After 90 days of employment, eligible Personal Care Assistants may complete free 40-hour Medication Aide training through Hillcrest.

Once trained and certified, you may have the opportunity to grow into Medication Aide responsibilities, including:

  • Assisting with medication administration according to physician orders, care plans, and facility procedures.
  • Following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Taking vital signs as ordered and reporting out-of-range results.
  • Documenting medication assistance, care provided, refusals, and resident changes accurately.
  • Supporting residents with additional health-maintenance activities under appropriate nursing oversight.
