Specific Role
The Electronic Assembly Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting EMIT’s Electronic Assembly operations by ensuring components, kits, subassemblies, finished goods, and production materials are delivered accurately and on time to the production floor. This position is responsible for maintaining material flow between inventory, production cells, quality, and shipping while supporting inventory accuracy and production efficiency. The Electronic Assembly Material Handler works closely with Production Leads, Supervisors, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure assemblers have the materials needed to execute the daily production schedule without interruption.
Key AccountabilitiesMaterial Flow & Production Support
- Deliver production kits, components, wire, hardware, and assemblies to Electronic Assembly workstations according to the daily production schedule.
- Replenish production lines with materials to prevent downtime and maintain continuous workflow.
- Return excess or unused materials to inventory while maintaining proper traceability and inventory accuracy.
- Move completed assemblies, panels, and finished products to Quality Control, Testing, Packaging, or Shipping as directed.
- Prioritize material movement based on production schedules and leadership direction.
Inventory Accuracy
- Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in D365 and other inventory tracking systems.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, lot numbers, and revisions before delivering materials to production.
- Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and material reconciliation activities.
- Report inventory discrepancies, shortages, damaged materials, or incorrect components immediately.
Organization & Workplace Readiness
- Maintain clean, organized, and clearly identified material storage locations.
- Ensure production areas remain stocked, organized, and free from unnecessary clutter.
- Support 5S initiatives by organizing work areas, staging racks, carts, and material locations.
- Remove scrap materials, empty containers, and packaging materials throughout the shift.
Team Support & Communication
- Work closely with Production Supervisors, Leads, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Planning to ensure production schedules remain on track.
- Communicate material shortages, delayed deliveries, or inventory concerns proactively.
- Support other manufacturing departments as needed during production fluctuations.
Safety & Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all EMIT safety policies, PPE requirements, and material handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Pay Range
$18—$24 USD
