Summary
This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. The posting will remain open until the closing date or until filled. Applicants will be reviewed for eligibility and referred on a regular basis. The position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized for highly qualified applicants. Alternate Work Schedule is available: work 72 hours and get paid for 80 hours.
Qualifications- English language proficiency (basic written and spoken English required for direct patient care).
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACC, ACEN, or CCNE) or completion of a master’s level bridge program with equivalent bachelor’s level coursework.
- Upon state licensure may be appointed temporarily and later converted to a permanent appointment after completing the bridge program.
- Foreign nursing graduates must have current, full, active, and unrestricted registration, and must complete a formal degree equivalency evaluation if the education exceeds an associate degree.
- Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) exception allows entry at the applicable grade level on a 120‑day temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.

- Registered Nurse at Papillion‑CHI Midlands Hospital Campus (11111 S. 84th St.).
- Provide health care within VA Community Living Centers – skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and dementia care for 30–90 day stays.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age‑specific care plans.
- Coordinate care focused on patient education, self‑management, and satisfaction across the continuum.
- Administer medications and procedures per policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes.
- Perform complex procedures: catheterization, venipuncture, central line dressing changes, wound care, heparin/saline flushes, PICC line management.
- Respond to patient emergencies and initiate life‑saving measures.
- Provide Basic Life Support when needed.
- Work schedule:
day and night shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays; alternate work schedule (AWS) of 72 hours per pay period (12‑hour shifts only).
