Dining Team Member; Husker Heroes

Description of Work

The Nebraska Unions Food Commons features a variety of dining options, including local favorites such as Valentino’s and Imperial Palace, as well as popular concepts like Sossy’s BBQ , Husker Hero’s, and Choolaah. We are seeking a Dining Team Member to maintain daily operations of one of these dining concepts while helping deliver an outstanding guest experience.

• Provide friendly, professional customer service to all guests
• Process customer orders accurately using the POS system
• Prepare food and beverages according to company standards and customer requests
• Fulfill mobile and in-store orders efficiently
• Stock front‑of‑house and kitchen supplies
• Prepare ingredients and assist with inventory management
• Operate dishwashing equipment and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Ensure food quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met

Schedule varies and includes evenings, late nights, and weekend shifts.

• High School education plus one year of experience in a work environment required; equivalency considered
• Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary

• Food Handler’s permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required

• Pre-Placement Driving Record Review Required
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
