POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Pipe fitters for an exciting Water Project in Papillion, NE.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Performs basic mathematical calculations pertaining to the craft such as rolling offsets, cutback of fittings, and takeout between joints and other fits.

* Material estimates.

* Plan the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other trades.

* Thread pipe using threading machine.

* Secure pipes to structure with bolt up, clamps, brackets and hangars using hand tools and machines.

* Test piping system for leaks by increasing pressure in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.

* Reads and understands plans, isometrics, arrangement drawings, details, specifications, erection manuals, and/or plans and makes decisions based on measurable criteria.

* Visualizes objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Basic understanding of rigging to move pipe into proper location.

* Maintains good housekeeping and a safe work area.

* Works safely, encourages others to do so, and complies with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and procedures.

* Follow oral and written directions.

* Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

* Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site

* Ability to work independently and follow instructions

* Must be self-motivated and can work well with others

* Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

* Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds

* Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces

* Minimum age 18+
