Low Voltage Cabling Technician – Structured Cabling & Fiber Installation

Responsibilities
  • Install Cat6 network cabling and pre-terminated fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) in data center and commercial environments
  • Work with both LC and MPO fiber connectors to support high-performance network infrastructure
  • Dress, route, and organize cabling using industry-standard wire management practices, including cable trays, ladder racks, and J-hooks
  • Rack and stack network switches, servers, and other IT hardware
  • Accurately label cables, hardware, and pathways to maintain proper documentation and organization
  • Read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, blueprints, and project specifications
  • Perform cable testing and verification as required
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and meets quality standards
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center environments
  • Proven experience installing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling systems
  • Familiarity with LC and MPO fiber connectors
  • Experience working in active data centers or mission‑critical environments preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow installation standards
  • BICSI, OSHA 10/30, Lift, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
  • Must have basic hand tools and required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high‑visibility vest, steel‑toe boots)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Reliable transportation to and from the job site
