Equipment Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Journeyman Equipment Operators for an exciting water project in Papillion, NE
. We are currently hiring operators experienced with:

• Excavators
• Dozers
• Loaders
• Skid Loaders
• Fork Trucks
• Haul Trucks
• Rollers

The ideal applicant has 5+ years of experience as an equipment operator and maneuvers equipment in a safe manner.

Compensation: IUOE Local 571 wages

• Completes Crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs daily
• Recognize hazards and danger zones
• Plan and execute work with minimum supervision
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Properly identify soil types
• Complete shallow and deep trenching excavations activities
• Rough and fine grading with dozer
• Safely load and unload materials
• Drive water truck/off road truck
• Completes machine load charts
• Operate long reach excavator and motor grader
• Operate small construction equipment (front loader, mixer, forklift, and skid steer)
• Inspect and provide basic maintenance on equipment

• Must be an existing member or willing to join International Union of Operating Engineers Local 571
• Prior experience with self-perform earthwork operations in commercial or civil environments
• Must be able to use laser level
• Understand construction terminology
• Proven commitment to safety
• Work in an organized manner
• Able to work night shifts when needed
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Abilityto performheavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds
• Ability to squat, crawl
• Minimum age 18+
• Proof of identity and employment authorization
