Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Maintenance Technician – Dold Foods
Independently perform mechanical repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on production, packaging, and facility equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues using established diagnostic processes.
Perform equipment adjustments, component replacements, and minor modifications to restore proper operation.
Execute preventative maintenance tasks and accurately document findings and follow-up actions in the CMMS system.
Support maintenance job scoping activities by participating in field walk-downs, evaluating equipment condition, identifying required labor, materials, tooling, and safety controls, and providing technical input to aid accurate job planning.
Utilize condition monitoring and diagnostic tools—including vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, infrared/thermal imaging, oil analysis interpretation, and visual inspection—to identify developing equipment issues and support proactive maintenance decisions.
Perform precision maintenance tasks such as alignment, balancing, torque verification, calibration, clearance measurement, and proper installation techniques to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
Identify emerging reliability issues and escalate complex problems appropriately.
Support equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve safety.
Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, utilities, controls, and engineering teams.
Follow all safety, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including lockout/tagout and PPE usage.
Provide guidance and on-the-job support to Maintenance Trainees as assigned.
Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent education/training.
Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs, inspections, and basic troubleshooting independently.
Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
Ability to read maintenance documentation, schematics, and work orders.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds; twisting, bending, kneeling, and crawling on top of or under equipment; working in hot and cold environments; operating aerial lifts; using ladders; and working at heights.
Two-year technical degree or equivalent advanced industrial maintenance experience.
Experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or continuous-process environments.
Exposure to CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $26-$36 hourly, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
