Essential Job Functions
- With moderate supervision, perform repairs in compliance with Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives and standard fabrication practices of sheet metal and composite components of aircraft in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications in a timely manner with minimal rework. Accurately order general aircraft parts as needed.
- Perform fitting and installation of fabricated parts and manufactured parts. Propose and seek approval for alternate installation and fabrication processes as needed to complete the task to the highest degree of quality and efficiency. Assist with troubleshooting of structural related tasks.
- Prepare various documents for record keeping purposes, as required by company policy and FAA regulations (i.e., turnovers, removal sheets, personal training logs, etc.). Demonstrate proficiency with Duncan Aviation work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements, SB and AD compliance statements, final inspection and closing of squawks and work orders.
- Consistently locate and use appropriate technical data and follow verbal instructions when accomplishing assigned maintenance tasks.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
- Licenses/Certificates:
Airframe or Repairman's Certificate required;
Powerplant Certificate preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record;
Respirator Fit qualified;
Man Lift qualified; tool inventory per department tool list required. - Attendance:
Regularly scheduled attendance required. - Physical:
Routinely lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.; read small print; hear sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; perform repetitive motion; work with moving parts and vibration; tolerate fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerate working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerate standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting. - Environmental:
Tolerate working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous sheet metal experience or training preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Two years sheet metal or aircraft maintenance experience required.
- FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate preferred.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Five years sheet metal or aircraft maintenance experience required.
