Front End Developer, Web Developer
We're a boutique international digital agency. Small team. Big clients. Modern stack. No bureaucracy.
We build websites that actually look good and actually perform, for healthcare providers, ecommerce brands, and service businesses across Australia. Not template jobs. Custom builds, every time.
This role is different from a normal web job. We're looking for someone who can design the site and then build it. Concept to live, you own the whole thing. You'll sit in Figma working out spacing, hierarchy and type, then move into code and bring it to life. The people who thrive here are the rare ones who genuinely do both.
Just as important: we want someone who's genuinely fun to work with. A great communicator who brings energy to the team. Someone who's responsive, engaged, and makes collaboration easy. We spend a lot of time together. Personality matters as much as skill.
This is a permanent, full‑time position. You'll be designing and building across our entire client portfolio from day one.
What You'll Actually Be DoingDesigning sites in Figma. Taking a brief, a reference, or a rough idea and turning it into a clean, considered design. You're not handed finished mockups. You make the design calls yourself.
Building what you designed
, in Astro (React + Tailwind CSS) and Word Press (Bricks Builder). Pixel‑perfect, responsive, fast‑loading sites that score well. Your design, your code, your standard.
Maintaining and updating live sites across 30+ clients. Content updates, new pages, team member additions, form changes, banner scheduling, promotional themes. The work varies daily. No two weeks look the same.
Shopify storefront work. Banner scheduling, promotional setups, product page updates, theme customisations for ecommerce clients.
Integrating third‑party systems. Booking platforms, referral forms, embedded apps, CRMs. You'll connect things that need connecting and make them feel native to the site.
Working with your project manager. You won't deal with clients directly, your PM handles that. But you'll take their direction, propose the design, and run the job end to end without being chased.
Rolling out changes across multiple sites. Holiday banners, trading hours, seasonal promotions, often applying the same update across 4‑5 sites in a single task.
What We're Actually Looking ForForget the 5‑year experience requirement. Here's what matters to us:
Real design ability. Not "an eye for design." Actual design skill. You can open Figma and produce something sharp from a blank canvas. Spacing, hierarchy, typography, balance. When something's off, you feel it before you can articulate why, and then you fix it.
The ability to build what you design. Plenty of people can do one or the other. We want the person who can do both, and own a site from concept to live without handing it off halfway.
Communication and ownership. Our best hires aren't always our most technically gifted. They're the ones who respond promptly, ask smart questions, flag blockers early, and never let something fall through the cracks. If you read the brief twice before starting, you're already ahead of most candidates.
AI fluency. We're not looking for someone who "has heard of ChatGPT." Our team uses tools like Claude Code and Codex CLI daily to work faster, debug smarter, and learn new frameworks in half the time. If AI is already part of how you work, that's a genuine advantage here.
Attention to detail that borders on obsessive. Typos in alt text. A missing hover state. A form that submits but doesn't confirm. Padding that's 2px off. These things matter to us. They should matter to you.
Efficiency. We move fast. Quick turnarounds are the norm. You need to manage your own time, prioritise sensibly, and deliver without being chased.
