JOBSUMMARY
This position contributes to Sanctuary’s success by enhancing the guests experience by providing service that is personable, courteous and professional manner, thus ensuring a positive experience.
The individual holds the responsibility of for the overall setup of a catered function, while assuming a supervisory role within the F&B service team; while ensuring a focus on living the Sanctuary Commitments and our Promise of Care Enough to do it well, critical to the success of this position.
JOB FUNCTIONSNote:

- Be thoroughly familiar with all standards of proper service etiquette and will ensure the banquet staff adhere to these standards throughout guest service.
- Positively motivate and develop the banquet staff, emphasize efficiency and teamwork with a sincere concern for the needs and expectations of guests.
- Be knowledgeable about the banquet menus; ingredients, method of preparation, cooking and dish-up times etc.
- Work closely with the Banquet Chef and culinary team to ensure seamless timing of service.
- Cultivate a spirit of teamwork between the culinary and service staff.
- Work together with managers to create good lines of communication with all departments.
- Support and ensure the resort’s guidelines and procedures.
- Attend and take an active role in B.E.O. meetings.
- Be familiar with requisitions, receiving, rotation and stocking procedures of catering and beverage supplies.
- Know and understand emergency safety measures.
- Be knowledgeable, regarding local health dept. codes. Supervise and instruct all service staff to exercise safe food handling protocol and procedures to exceed county health code standards.
- Responsible for signing out keys, and secure all store rooms as assigned by the Banquet Manager.
- Have awareness of state liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Observe each staff member for timeliness, proper uniform and proper grooming.
- Ensure proper maintenance, storage and care is exhibited by all employees toward equipment.
- Assign all tables and set-up duties, such as: who is passing hors d’oeuvres or serving cocktails.
- Assemble teams and assign servers and runners according to pairings.
- Assist with the service of the function, setting the pace of service and ensuring staff is adhering to all the resort’s standards of service.
- May be required to assist in room set-up and breakdown.
- Conduct a pre-service with staff detailing the event and discuss items going on within our community.
- Ensure the next shift is set for success.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests, vendors, co-workers, and management.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Banquet Manager.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Must be extremely organized; able to expedite multiple orders completely and accurately.
