Paradise Unified School District is seeking dependable, flexible, and student-focused individuals to serve as Substitute Teachers throughout the District. Substitute teaching is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with students, want flexibility in their schedule, and are interested in gaining experience in a school setting. Substitute Teachers play an important role in keeping learning moving forward when a regular classroom teacher is absent.
Substitute Teachers provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher. Assignments may be available at the elementary, junior high, high school, and alternative education levels depending on District needs and substitute availability. Substitutes have the flexibility to accept assignments that work with their schedules and may choose from available jobs as they arise.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher.
- Provide a positive, structured, and respectful learning environment.
- Supervise students and maintain appropriate classroom expectations.
- Support student engagement and participation throughout the school day.
- Maintain student safety and follow District and school-site procedures.
- Communicate relevant information regarding the day's activities to the regular classroom teacher.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with school administrators, teachers, instructional aides, and other staff.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and District matters.
