North America Site Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager

Reporting to the North America Health, Safety and Environmental Regional Manager with daily reporting to the Facility Leader. The Site HSE Manager leads corporate and regulatory health, safety and environmental initiatives and processes at the assigned location to reduce team member injury, ensure ongoing regulatory compliance and minimize company exposure.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, train and maintain facility policies, programs and procedures to reduce team member injury and minimize company exposure, ensuring compliance with the corporate HSE management system and all applicable HSE regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental permits, regulations and reporting requirements for the assigned facility.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all aspects of Hazardous Waste EPA Regulations (SQG).
  • Drive programs involving team member engagement and behavior‑based safety processes (Consequence Thinking – Zero & Beyond).
  • Maintain certification to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Standards.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of all corporate HSE metrics and data requests.
  • Provide hands‑on support in areas such as health, safety and environmental procedure implementation (corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.
  • Drive an incident reporting process that ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions and best practice sharing throughout the business unit and corporate.
  • Conduct and assist with internal and external HSE audits and meet with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.
  • Serve as a support resource in the development and review of facility‑specific HSE training needs analysis, operational reviews and new installation assessments.
  • Partner with facility leadership to participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events and other meetings where HSE representation is requested.
  • Work closely with HSE counterparts and serve as the region representative to cross‑regional forums for best practice sharing, idea exchange and shared learning.
  • Participate in other key HSE initiatives as assigned by the NA HSE Department or Facility Leader.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering or a related field (direct experience in an HSE role may substitute for a degree).
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct experience with OSHA compliance, behavior‑based safety, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing and training.
  • Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental excellence.
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation regulations, environmental permit compliance and large quantity hazardous waste management.
  • Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO
    14001:2015 & ISO
    45001:2018).
  • Experience in a manufacturing site.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with technology such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Site‑level role (not remote) with periodic travel for meetings and participation in other site audits.
