Job DescriptionAssistant Technician. Contract length is 188 days per year, 8 hours per day. Position begins August 6, 2026. Salary is based on salary schedule posted on district website.
Requirements:
Background check and child maltreatment check required by law. Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, certification in technology, or equivalent work experience required. Technology troubleshooting experience or certifications preferred. Familiarity with various operating systems and software. Knowledge of various peripheral equipment. Ability to work with users of varying levels of technological proficiency. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. of equipment and work off a 8ft ladder when needed.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Duties:
- Assist in providing a stable and secure network infrastructure.
- Install, troubleshoot, and offer tech support for VOIP systems.
- Install, terminate and test network cabling.
- Coordinate and assist in the implementation of technology equipment in new construction.
- Install and support various audio visual equipment.
- Install and support various peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and repair laptops and computers.
- Assist in inventory and set up of new computers and devices.
- Assist in maintaining the inventory database and labeling technology devices.
- Support end users at all school sites and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond to end user requests effectively and communicate with them to address issues.
- Develop, maintain and evaluate the E-Rate program.
- Oversee E-Rate RFP process.
- Assist in maintenance of mobile device management system (MDM).
- Monitor anti-virus/security software for threats and resolve them.
- Manage user accounts, reset passwords, delete/suspend accounts as needed.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve warranty issues.
- Complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
- Obtain twenty hours of professional development annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
