Comerio​/Roller Die 1st Operator 2nd Shift

Purpose

The Comerio First Operator will assist the Comerio Leader in preparing the Comerio for daily operation. In absence of the Comerio Leader will assume the leadership role and direct the daily activities of the team members with the help of the Supervisor. The First Operator will assist in all TPM and 5S procedures and will assume these roles in the absence of the Leader.

First Operator will actively assist in all operations of the machine to ensure that maximum machine output is achieved by communicating expectations, maintaining safe working environment and initiating continuous improvement projects.

• Assist Leader in preparing the machine.
• In absence of Leader, must be able to direct and lead Comerio team with help of the Supervisor.
• Follow and communicate the directions of the Comerio Leader to ensure that production is being met.
• Assist Leader in setting and adjusting machine.
• Relieve Leader and Helper for breaks.
• Assist leader in performing TPM.
• Assist leader in performing 5S procedures.
• Communicate with material handler to ensure that rubber and fabric are pulled at staged at machine in a timely manner.

• Must be dependable and demonstrate the ability to follow directions
• Must be a team player
• Ability to operate production equipment
• Forklift certified
• Good knowledge of all safety procedures while operating machinery

One to three years of previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• One to two years previous experience on the Comerio preferred.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.

Incumbent needs a basic understanding of computers and printers

Works in a manufacturing environment in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works with manufacturing equipment.
