This on-site opportunity in Paramount, CA, is ideal for professionals seeking to make a measurable impact on continuous improvement, compliance, and product quality by collaborating with cross-functional teams and supplier partners.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and improve policies, procedures, and work instructions to support enhancement of the Integrated Management System, focusing on AS9100D and customer quality requirements.
- Lead and participate in internal audits, Kaizen events, Six Sigma, and other process improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance assessments to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in response to audits, customer complaints, or internal nonconformities.
- Conduct training for IMS/QMS Quality-owned processes, including MRB, to impacted personnel.
- Review and implement customer quality requirements, and maintain current documentation system for the Quality Assurance department.
- Analyze and report on quality data, identifying trends and recommending process improvements to reduce waste, scrap, and nonconforming products.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to meet established deadlines and contribute to a culture of safety and quality excellence.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Proven knowledge of AS9100D, ITAR, and EAR requirements and compliance.
- Ability to lead audits, drive corrective actions, and facilitate process improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, 6S, Lean, Kaizen).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with supplier quality management and conducting supplier audits.
- Familiarity with MRB processes and product quality disposition activities.
- Certification in Six Sigma, ASQ CQE, or similar quality disciplines.
- Background in the aerospace, metals, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Expertise in data analysis tools for quality trend monitoring and root cause identification.
