Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The role includes assisting customers, cleaning display cases and shelves, filling and rotating self‑serve displays, and maintaining a tidy and orderly environment. The position requires the ability to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends, and to perform heavy lifting (up to 60 lb), bending, stooping, and standing for long periods.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Capability to write simple correspondence.
• Effective communication skills in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but routine written or oral instructions.
• Physical strength to lift and/or move up to 25 lb, frequently 45 lb, and occasionally up to 60 lb.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (preferred).
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
