About the OpportunityA growing real estate and property management firm in Bergen County is looking to add an experienced Accounts Receivable Assistant to their team immediately. This is a critical, hands‑on role in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment where expertise in reconciliations, cash applications, and billing will play a key role in supporting daily operations.

Key Responsibilities- Manage high volume of cash applications and ensure timely and accurate posting of payments.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee tenant and customer billing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to lease terms.
- Investigate and resolve payment variances, unapplied cash, and short payments.
- Maintain aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with property managers and internal team to solve account issues.
- Support month‑end close activities related to AR.
- Ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation of all transactions.
- 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, ideally within real estate or property management.
- Strong experience with reconciliations, cash applications, and billing.
- Ability to manage high‑volume transactions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (Yardi or similar systems a plus).
