A growing professional services firm is seeking an Accounting & Billing Specialist to support leadership with day-to-day accounting operations and firmwide billing. This is a highly visible role offering strong exposure to both transactional accounting and revenue cycle management.

• Billing & Accounts Receivable:
  • Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices
  • Track WIP, unbilled time, expenses, and retainers
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Process adjustments, write-ups/downs, and credits
  • Monitor AR and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Maintain billing records and support monthly billing cycles
• Accounting & Month-End Support:
  • Assist with AP, AR, and daily accounting activities
  • Prepare journal entries and help maintain the general ledger
    
    Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close (accruals, variance analysis)
  • Assist with revenue recognition tied to billing activity
  • Contribute to year-end processes, audits, and ad hoc projects

• 3–5+ years of accounting, billing, or AP/AR experience (professional services a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Exposure to WIP, retainers, utilization, and project‑based revenue models
• Experience with billing systems or expense tools
• Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
• Detail‑oriented with strong organization and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential financial information

• Time & billing / practice management systems (e.g., Office Tools, Canopy, CCH, Thomson Reuters)
• Accounting software (e.g., Quick Books Online)
• Advanced Excel
