Under the direction ofthe Director of Grants Administration ,performsavarietyof responsibilities,such asreconcilinggeneralledgers to Grants,accounts payableof Grants,and various other accounting dutiesregarding Grants.
Provides general administrative support for the department. Performsotherrelated responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Verifies transfers and totals for monthly expenses in all Grant accounts and prepares journal entries as needed.
- Performs Grant account analysis and maintenance and assists with the preparation and reconciliation of the Grants.
- Provides assistance with the annual Grant audits.
- Reviews disbursement documents submitted for approval signature/s, appropriate sales tax, IRS reimbursement compliance, and compliance with federal, state, and college policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform related administrative functions to support grant management activities, including maintaining documentation, coordinating with program staff, and assisting with repo
11ing and compliance requirements. - Coordinates vendor payments, resolves discrepancies, ensures timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, and maintains accurate records and controls.
- Provides excellent service to the college community in the processing of all Grant accounts payable disbursements, from data entry to check disbursement or direct deposit transmission.
- Communicates with colleagues in the college to resolve discrepancies regarding calculations, financial and statistical recordkeeping regarding Grants; verifies accuracy of financial and numerical data and follows-up on issues of inaccuracy and discrepancy.
- Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned by the Director of Grants Administration or Grant Managers.
Education:Associate'sDegree in Businessorequivalentaccountingexperience
Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general accounting or related field; experience in higher education preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (a) demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open door policy; (b) knowledge of accounting methods, procedures; (c) demonstrates skill to work with a variety of computer software, database management, and other software applications; and (d) exhibits strong skills in communication, customer and student focus, building relationships, organizing, and planning.
HOURLY RATE AND BENEFITS- $25/hour
