Senior Cost Specialist
As Senior Cost Specialist, you will drive cost control and financial performance across large, multi-year utility capital EPC projects, supporting work from early execution through closeout. You'll partner closely with Project Managers, Project Controls, Engineering, and Construction teams to ensure accurate cost visibility, manage financial risk, and support data-driven decisions across complex grid infrastructure programs.
In Office- M-F: 650 From Road, Paramus, NJ 07652 Up to 10% domestic travel
What You'll Do- Track and control costs across EPC industrial projects
- Leverage JD Edwards, Eco Sys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI for job cost tracking and reporting
- Manage budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends on multi-year capital programs
- Develop and maintain EACs and ETCs to ensure accurate financial projections
- Identify cost variances and risks early, escalating issues to project leadership
- Support change management, including change orders, budget adjustments, and cost impacts
- Partner with Project Managers, Operations, and technical teams to align financials with execution plans
- Deliver clear cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for leadership and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Project Controls Execution Plans and company standards
- Act as a trusted cost advisor, driving continuous improvement in cost control practices
- 4+ years of project cost control or project controls experience within EPC and/or heavy industrial construction
- Strong hands‑on expertise in cost forecasting, budget management, change management, and cost/risk trend analysis
- Experience in project‑based capital environments (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)
- Must have experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, including CPI (Cost Performance Index) and SPI (Schedule Performance Index) reporting and analysis
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with JDE and/or Eco Sys required, Procore preferred
- Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights for project leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $/Yr.
- USD $/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
