Position Summary
Under the direction of the Oncology Administrator and the Clinical Trials Supervisors, this position will serve as a technician to the Clinical Trials program. The primary role of the Clinical Trials Technician is to complete specimen procurement, handling and associated pre and post documentation inclusive of database management. This individual will work closely with the surgeons in the Department of Surgery to develop and implement a system that supports the Specimen Procurement Program.
Patients will be interviewed preoperatively and if eligible will be enrolled into the Project. This individual will be present in the Operating Room to assist with the specimen procurement and subsequent transport and handling. Follow up data management will be completed via data entry into a database.
Baccalaureate degree, science orientation, RN degree accepted.
ExperiencePhlebotomy experience preferred but willing to train as it is a requirement of the position, computer skills.
SkillsComputer skills, Word, Excel, knowledge of database creation and management, phlebotomy skills, tissue processing according to policy/procedure, patient interviewing skills, clinical practice certification for research.

Pay Range: $30.82 - $38.53 (per hour)
