Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
.
- Schedules patients and orders appropriate radio-pharmaceuticals for procedures.
- Performs I.V. injection of radionuclides and arranges for patient prep.
- Keeps detailed records of the amount and type of radiopharmaceuticals used and the procedure.
- Provides quality control to meet radiation safety compliance.
- Executes scans according to approved protocols.
- Decides alternative ways of performing scans based on patient history and cooperation.
- Attends quarterly Radiation Safety Committee meetings, provides input, and discusses issues.
- Makes recommendations with departmental impact and ensures staff adheres to restrictions within the nuclear lab.
- Develops policy and procedure within the department as per RSO and regulatory agencies.
- Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions before placing service calls.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Provides in-service training for on-call technicians.
- Responds to patients in a timely, professional, caring, and respectful manner.
- Maintains established departmental policies, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards; adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.
- Familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program. Holds a state license and certification to practice nuclear medicine.
Other Duties- Provides patient comfort (e.g., bedpans, blankets) as required.
- Performs required clerical work to maintain patient records.
- Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
- Informs appropriate personnel when equipment needs repair.
- Fulfills all continuing education requirements specified by regulatory agencies and Medical Center standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
Experience:
Preferred minimum of 3 years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine. NJ state nuclear medicine technologist license required. Certification via AART required. BLS required. Additional certification for CT/SPECT/PET preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English to the required standard.
$48.00 to $52.50 per hour plus differentials: evening $2.65 per hour, night $2.65, weekend $2.00.
