Part‑time with Benefits
- Perform procedures according to departmental format, completing the exam within allotted time.
- Conduct daily clerical duties, including use of the ASOBGYN reporting system, Epic patient scheduling, and other computer systems.
- Perform portable ultrasound exams when necessary.
- Perform complex technical tasks in diagnostic ultrasound, including mandatory fetal studies and mandatory procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villi sampling, and fetal reductions.
- Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, explain procedures, and position them for each anatomical view.
- Evaluate technical quality of images to obtain representative images of pathogenic conditions; process images according to standard procedures.
- Maintain records of ultrasounds, archiving and de‑archiving data as required; calculate, compile, and record data from numerical readings.
- Calibrate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on equipment, and stock and replenish supplies.
- Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, new employees, medical residents, and medical students.
- Identify the needs of the patient population served and deliver care specific to those needs, communicating with patients, parents, or caregivers at their level of understanding.
- Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Perform anatomy and physiology exams of fetuses of all gestational ages, including Level II scans, 3‑D scans, detailed fetal cardiac anatomy scans, transvaginal scans, and Doppler BPP, growth and nuchal translucency studies.
- Assist in procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villi sampling, and fetal reductions.
- Perform gynecologic ultrasound exams.
- Graduate of an approved ultrasound school.
- Minimum two years of allied health or college training.
- Minimum one year of clinical experience in OB/GYN ultrasound.
- Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, their functions, and operation of each control.
- Understanding of equipment and computer systems and procedures for equipment service.
- Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of safety, infection, and disaster policies and procedures, including patient care during emergencies.
- Availability to cover weekends on a rotation basis (approximately once every six weeks).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to aid in invasive fetal procedures with MFM specialists.
- One year of clinical experience in MFM ultrasound.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification.
- Nuchal Translucency Certification.
Minimum rate of $46.64 per hour. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in compliance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of the market‑competitive total rewards package.
