ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including the following but are not limited to):
  • Observe, evaluate, and assess individuals to determine the need for behavior plan
  • Provide assessments on individuals as referred and/or requested
  • Advise, train, and assist staff in the implementation of behavior plans, as well as observe how staff interact with clients
  • Provide regular and special reports to the Director of the Behavioral Department
  • Attend staff meetings as requested by management
  • Attend manager meetings as requested
  • Coordinate meetings with appropriate staff, parents, guardians, and support coordinators, as necessary
  • Participate in the development of ISP/IDT’s as requested
  • Establish and maintain a professional network (including professionals from similar agencies) to benefit program participants
  • Participate in on-call system as scheduled or requested
  • Cooperate with the Director of Behavioral Services or designee and perform any additional tasks assigned that are in the best interest of the clients and New Concepts
  • Remain up to date on licensing requirements to ensure compliance
  • Gain knowledge of foothold and progress notes
  • Review and/or write progress notes for group homes or day program as requested by management
  • Conduct behavioral orientation training for new hires
  • Review ABCs and run reports on specific ABC data as requested by management
  • Complete the behavioral monthly report
  • Review ADL checklists and bed checks for the group homes as requested by management
  • Run day habilitation groups both virtually and/or in person as requested by management
  • Attend dinner visits for onboarding clients
  • Attend psychiatric visits virtually or in person as requested by management
  • Communicate with doctors, physicians or other professionals as requested by management
  • Review NCATs and understand tier levels for clients as requested by management
  • Write behavior support plans or de-escalation protocols as requested by management
  • 45 hours per week schedule
  • Cooperate with New Concepts for Living and Department Staff in any inspection and/or investigation
QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling, Social Work, or other similar behavioral science program
  • One to two years of supervised training in performing behavior assessment and developing behavior plans, preferably with the DD/
  • Flexibility in scheduling and hours, which may change weekly based on the upcoming schedules and appointments
  • Problem Solving, Conflict Resolution, Reporting, Interpersonal and Basic computer skills
